    The mission of Lincoln Elementary School is to provide every student with an educational experience that promotes success in a 21st-century global community through a focus on service learning, communication skills, critical thinking, global awareness, technology, and leadership.

  • City High Schematic Design Presentation Scheduled

    The District, along with representatives from BLDD Architects, will present the proposed schematic design for the additions at City High School to the Board of Education at their July 24 meeting. Once the initial design is approved by the board, construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2019 with a projected completion date during the summer of 2021.

  • Summer Food Service Programs

    The Iowa City Community School District, The Dream Center, The Resurrection Assembly of God Church, Neighborhood Center of Johnson County, and the Robert A Lee Rec Center are participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals and/or snacks are provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided on a first come, first served basis at the sites and times as follows ...

  • Registration for Fall 2018

    The Iowa City Community School District will be hosting a centralized registration this summer at the Educational Services Center (1725 N. Dodge Street, Iowa City) for families who are new to the District. Please call the District office at (319) 688-1000 to schedule an appointment. Read on for details about elementary and secondary registration for the fall.

  • District Breaks Ground on New Elementary School in North Liberty

    The Iowa City Community School District broke ground Tuesday on a new school in North Liberty. Grant Elementary School—named after Dr. Christine Grant, a trailblazer in women’s athletics—will open in the fall of 2019. Dr. Grant was present for the groundbreaking alongside future students of the school.

  • @BePositive Campaign

    The Iowa City Community School District wants to celebrate the amazing work taking place in classrooms across our District thanks to our incredible team of educators, support staff, and administrators. In an effort to share some of these inspiring stories, the District is launching the @BePositive campaign. @BePositive is a platform where students, staff, and parents can submit anonymous comments of praise for those who display positive behaviors and attitudes in our school community. We believe it is important to shed light on the actions taking place that really make a difference in our schools. Continue reading for instructions on how to submit a comment.
