Important Mental Health and Wellness Reminders
We want to provide a reminder that your mental health matters. While there is much to celebrate within our school district family, we also recognize the challenges that many face throughout the year.

Longfellow Elementary School blends the tradition of a turn-of-the-century building with the modern adaptations needed to accommodate successful 21st-century learning. The rich cultural diversity of the neighborhood makes it a unique and diverse elementary school within the Iowa City Community School District.
The educational program here incorporates an emphasis on learning the common core curriculum through experiential learning, basic skills instruction, and enrichment opportunities. Included in the program are activities that integrate multicultural experiences, the arts, technology, and a lot of reading. The staff is committed to building high self-esteem in each child, fostering positive, cooperative attitudes and focusing on the whole child.
