Mrs. Neubauer's SPARK PE Class

  • It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your student’s Physical Education Teacher. This will be my second year at Alexander Elementary and my fourth year teaching at the elementary level. Overall, this is my 21st year of teaching! I have taught at the elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate level.

I am originally from Clarence, Iowa. It is a small rural town located in east central Iowa. I grew up on a farm very active in 4-H, four sports, band, choir, speech, and drama. I attended Wartburg College where I earned my Bachelor's degree in K-12 Physical Education and K-12 Health Education. I also earned my Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Iowa State University. In 2003, I received the Iowa Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (IAHPERD) Middle School Teacher of the Year award for our state. In 2013, I authored my first graduate level course, Rev Up the Revolution – Your Middle School Physical Education Game Plan, for Drake University’s Distance Learning Education program for educators across the United States and in Canada. I have been married 20 years to my wonderful husband Keith and have two children: Alissa (17) and Ryan (15). We live in the College Community School District and they keep us very busy with their many sports, music, and school activities.
