Anah Austin
Leadership Support and Development Strategist
austin.anah@iowacityschools.orgI graduated with a B.A. from the University of Iowa and began my teaching career in 2007 teaching Spanish and World Languages in Marion, Iowa. I earned my Master's degree in Developmental Reading from the University of Iowa in 2011 and came to the Iowa City Community School District that fall to teach Literacy at Northwest Junior High. Starting in 2015, I also served as an Instructional Design Strategist at Northwest. In 2017, I became one of the Leadership Support and Development Strategists for the District.
I am privileged to be part of an amazing team that believes not only in the power of education but also in the ability of teachers to empower and inspire students. I am passionate about the potential of schools to unwind social stigmas and stereotypes by providing every student access to equitable educational experiences, and I come to work every day in service of this goal. -
