The District is taking specific steps to be sure our students form undocumented and immigrant families know we support them. Outlined in the 2017 Student Climate Survey, 65% of students report hearing hurtful comments about immigrants from other students. Additionally, 25% of multiracial students report that their school is not a welcoming and safe place. The task force was created as a result of abrupt changes in federal policy and concerning information from the Student Climate Survey. The Equity Department uses the task force to assist in creating safe and welcoming environments for our students to thrive in our schools and to inform the community of the rights and resources for our students and families.
