Free & Tuition-Based Full-Day Preschool
The District offers two full-day preschool programs during the 2022-23 school year for children who turn four years old on or before September 15, 2022, at Twain and Hills elementary schools:
- Shared Visions Preschool Program, free to income-eligible families
- Tuition-Based Preschool, offering a limited number of openings to families who can pay
Placements for the full-day preschool are based on home address first, then on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there is availability once students from Twain and Hills are placed, we will open up spots to other residents of the Iowa City Community School District. Proof of address is required. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Free, Full-Day Preschool
The District offers full-day preschool programming for income-eligible families, through the Shared Visions Preschool Program.
Students of eligible families are able to attend at no cost. Grant opportunities are available for families who meet the criteria. See Income Guidelines. You must provide financial documentation to be considered for a grant. Proof of address is also required.
The Shared Visions funding does not cover the cost of lunch; this is the responsibility of the family. Learn about the Free and Reduced Application.
Tuition-Based, Full-Day Preschool
The District has a limited number of tuition-based, full-day preschool slots at Hills and Twain elementary schools for $500 per month.
A financial agreement and proof of address is required.
