• Assessment Opportunities For ICHSAP Students

    Assessment Information:

Optional standardized assessments for home schooled students, either for baseline measures or for the annual assessment, can be taken at the ICHSAP center (FAST and ISASP) and at the area education agency (ISASP). Below are the two assessments offered by the Iowa City School District.

FAST reading and mathematics universal screening for in grades K-6

Iowa Code section 279.68 requires all children who are students of the Iowa City Community School District in Kindergarten through grade three to be periodically screened for reading or reading readiness. That law also requires the District to offer additional supports for children who are identified as being “persistently at-risk” in reading.

K-6 homeschooling students who have turned in a Form A and are living in the Iowa City School District must be offered the opportunity to be screened for reading or reading readiness. This reading screening is optional for ICHSAP students.

This year’s screening periods are listed below and are optional for your student(s).
