An interpreter is someone who assists with oral communication between two languages, whereas translation is the changing of written text from one language into another.
To translate any page on this website, click the translation icon. On the mobile site, find the Translate tab in the menu. In the District app, find the Auto-translate options in Settings.

Under Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and Executive Order 13166, public agencies are obligated to provide competent language assistance to limited-English-proficient individuals.
