Seal of Biliteracy Course

  • In order to achieve the Seal of Biliteracy award, students must demonstrate competency in dual language proficiency at the time of graduation from high school.

Our District's Seal of Biliteracy course is designed for students to work above and beyond the basic requirements of achieving the award. This course is designed to encourage employability skills, global citizenship, and community extension in a real-life setting, as well as preparation for continued language study in post-secondary environments. The course provides opportunities for students to complete hours of service in their community and show evidence of their 21st Century Learning Skills. This is an opportunity to seek relevant language use and service outside the classroom and in the community so as to enhance bilingual communication skills and become responsible and active global citizens.
