  • PPEL & SAVE Vote is on November 2, 2021!

    On November 2, 2021, the Iowa City Community School District will ask voters to consider the extension of the Revenue Purpose Statement for the Secure and Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) and the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL).

  • Updated Mask Requirements in Schools

    On October 8, 2021, a preliminary injunction was granted regarding the State of Iowa’s mask requirement ban. Based on this decision, the Iowa City Community School District will continue to require face masks for all students, staff, and visitors in our buildings and on our campuses.

  • Flu Vaccine Clinics

    The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will hold flu vaccine clinics in our schools. Check out the schedule to find out when the vaccine clinic is at your school!

  • Junior High and High School Quarantine Protocols Update

    When a positive COVID-19 case is identified in one of our secondary schools, communication will be sent to inform individuals/families of the potential exposure and offer the choice to self-quarantine should that be the individual’s/family’s preference.

  • Registration Information for the 2021-22 School Year

    Registration is now open for the 2021-2022 school year. As a reminder, all families are required to register their students in Infinite Campus through the process known as Online Registration (OLR).

  • Welcome to South East Junior High, where you can expect excellence! At South East, we are proud to serve a rich population of diverse learners. Staff at South East pride themselves on forming individual relationships with each student to ensure we are meeting the needs of all learners. South East staff believe that all students can learn at high levels, and they eagerly accept the responsibility of challenging each student.

    Students at South East have a variety of opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities in STEM, athletics, fine arts, and many additional clubs ranging from yearbook to sewing and craft club. We pride ourselves on striving for excellence and providing an enriching, successful, and meaningful experience for each student.
