Center for Innovation Career Academies
Career Academies offer our high school students a unique opportunity to explore specific career fields or areas of interest through a structured series of courses. These academies are designed to help students build real-world skills, gain early exposure to professional pathways, and make informed decisions about their future, all while earning both high school and, in many cases, college credit.
Currently, students can enroll in two specialized Health Care Career Academies: Patient Care and Pre-Nursing. These academies provide direct access to work-based learning experiences and internships within our local health care community, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on experience and build connections in the field.
While these academies are part of the dual enrollment offerings through the Kirkwood Regional Center, students take the courses right here at our Center for Innovation. This setup removes the need for travel to the Regional Center, helping students stay on track with their regular schedules and reducing disruption to their school day.
Courses are taught by ICCSD staff, giving us the flexibility to offer class times and transportation options that meet the needs of our students. This local, adaptable approach helps ensure that more students have access to high-quality, career-aligned coursework
