Our Mission
Our mission is to foster music-centered communities where students experience a sense of belonging as they develop lifelong connections with and through music. We aim to provide differentiated experiences for students as they develop musical skills, knowledge, and understandings through the artistic processes of creating, performing, responding, and connecting.
Our Vision
Our K-12 music teachers and students co-create vibrant communities of care, challenge, and collaboration through the arts.
As the Iowa City Community School District presents a demographic snapshot similar to that of the United States, our students bring a variety of musical, social, and cultural traditions to the music-making spaces in our schools.
