High School Science

The high school program is designed to offer students a variety of choices in the sciences. Earth and Space Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are designed to give students a basic background in the major fields of science. In addition, Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Chemistry and AP Physics offers students a more in depth, rigorous experience.  The range of courses available to students prepares them to address the complex societal issues of their future. Three years of high school science are required for graduation in the Iowa City Community School District and the State of Iowa.
