Primary students are invited to participate in the Early Literacy Library program. Early Literacy Library books are brought home each day in a zip-lock bag to be read with a parent.
The books are selected at an "independent" level rather than an "instructional" level. The child should know most of the words and be able to read the book easily with very little help from an adult. Students who participate in the Early Literacy Library program make significant gains in their reading achievement.
The Early Literacy Library was started with a generous grant from Epley Marketing. Ongoing support has been provided by the ICCSD Run for the Schools project and the Penn PTO.
