Molly Abraham

Molly lives in Iowa City with her husband, Dave Walz. They have three adult daughters who are all proud alumni of West High School. Molly worked at West High for 18 years as a special education teacher, and then 20 years as an assistant principal. She is now retired and enjoys volunteering, biking, and reading.

J.P. was a special education teacher at West High School from 2004 to 2014. He has two adult children, Justice, who graduated from City High in 2012 and Maya, who graduated from Tate Alternative High School in 2017. His daughter Stefany attends Kirkwood Elementary. He lives in Coralville where his wife, Alice, practices acupuncture. He currently teaches at Circle School, which serves the patients on the inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit at University of Iowa Health Care.

Charlie Eastham

Charlie lives with his wife, Karen Fox, in Iowa City. Their children, now well into adulthood, attended Longfellow, South East, and City High. Charlie attended high school and the local community college in his hometown in Texas before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and then served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Malaysia before coming to Iowa City in 1971 to attend the University of Iowa Law School. Charlie retired in 2007 after holding a professional and scientific staff senior research position in the Department of Internal Medicine and subsequently a computer consultant position in U.I. Hospitals and Clinics Health Care Information Systems. Eastham has been a member of the Equity Committee, the Center for Worker Justice, and The Black Voices Project. The experience gained from working with these groups will be applicable to addressing social and racial justice challenges as a member of the school board.

Jayne Finch

Jayne lives in Coralville with her husband, Rami Abu-Hijleh, and their two sons who attend West High School. She received both her BS and MPAS from the University of Iowa and has worked as a physician assistant since 1995, primarily in the areas of hematology/oncology and otolaryngology. She previously served as Chair of the ICCSD Equity Advisory Committee and is a trained restorative justice facilitator. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and cycling.

Ruthina Malone - President

Ruthina Malone lives in Iowa City with her husband, Malone who is a teacher in the district. Their daughter is an alumni of Lucas Elementary, South East Junior High and Iowa City High. Ruthina earned her BA in Psychology and MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Iowa. She has worked for the University of Iowa since 2003 in various positions. Ruthina currently works as an Administrator within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences overseeing administrative and financial needs of the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences. She is also a current member of the Kirkwood Community College's Foundation Board of Directors.

Lisa Williams

Lisa Williams is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Iowa where she prosecutes violations of federal criminal law. She lives in Iowa City with her husband Jason Schumann, who teaches at City High School. They have two daughters and their eldest attends school in the ICCSD. Growing up, Lisa attended Mann Elementary and South East Junior High. She attended Smith College where she graduated with a B.A. in government and astronomy and then returned to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa College of Law. While at Smith, she enlisted in the Army Reserves, and eventually became a Captain in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. She is a proud veteran after being mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In her free time, she serves as a coach to the City High mock trial team.
