Alexander Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
We volunteer together to create a positive experience for students, teachers, staff, and families. Parents are automatically members, no dues required.
Alexander Elementary's Parent Teacher Organization meets on the second Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:00 PM, in the school library. Childcare is provided. If you are looking to learn more about the school, explore ways to get involved, voice a concern, or simply meet other parents, we encourage you to come to a monthly meeting.

The Archibald Alexander Elementary PTO are parents, just like you, and teachers/staff who are involved to make sure our kids have the best resources and education possible. Academic success needs a partnership of the principal, teachers, staff, AND parents! This is the purpose of the PTO.
The PTO is only as effective as the parents involved. So, we need YOU — some of your time, energy, and passion about your child’s education. There are MANY ways to get involved each year. Please join us once a month at our month PTO meetings, "like" us on Facebook, sign up to be on the Email List to receive opportunities to volunteer, donate, or to stay up to date on what is going on at the school. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name from the email account you want added to the list.
Archibald Alexander Elementary parents regularly attend District Parent-Teacher Organization (DPO) and school board meetings to learn more and advocate for the resources necessary to benefit our children's education. If you are interested in attending with us, or if you have an issue you would like brought to the school board's attention, please email us at email@example.com or come to a monthly PTO meeting to have your voice heard.

- Annual PJ Story Time
- Annual Bike Rodeo
- Annual End-of-Year Falcon Festival
- Recess Knitting Club (10-week program)
In the past, the PTO has provided screen printing equipment and supplies to the art department; t-shirts for 5th & 6th grade classes’ visit to Kinnick Stadium event; 24 Little Free Libraries that were built, installed, and stocked with books throughout Iowa City targeting The South District; and sound system for assemblies and events. All these and more we can do with your help.
