General Information

  • Welcome to Lincoln Elementary! At Lincoln, students, staff, and parents work together to create a learning community focused on academics and service learning. Our school is located in Manville Heights near the University of Iowa. We have an enrollment of approximately 240 students in K-6.

At Lincoln, we are people of character. We are honest, caring, responsible, and respectful. These core traits provide a common thread through our daily lessons, interactions, and service learning projects. Our Lincoln Roar reflects a focus on teamwork and high expectations both academically and socially. Our school traditions and all school projects encourage students to be active, creative, and collaborative.

Lincoln is organized into multi-age homerooms and single grade Language Arts and Mathematics classes. The Common Core and Iowa Core provide the curriculum for our strong educational program. Teachers collaborate weekly in Professional Learning Communities to learn, plan instruction, analyze students’ response to instruction, and design enrichment and extensions. Our teachers and students utilize instructional technology on a daily basis.

A strong sense of school pride is evidenced through the involvement of parents, students, and staff in our learning community. Our PTO is an active group that supports our educational program through organized volunteer programs and financial support for enriching activities and clubs. Our Lincoln PTO volunteers log hundreds of hours each trimester!
