We welcome you to Grant Wood Elementary School! Our dedicated staff strives to meet the individual needs of every child, to provide a variety of social and academic experiences, and to foster a positive and inclusive learning climate where each child reaches their full potential. We respect and celebrate the individual differences and rich diversity that make up our school community! We offer a challenging curriculum that cultivates life-long learning. We use research-based instructional strategies that promote active participation, independent thinking, and high academic achievement.
Student progress is continually monitored by evaluating student work and making instructional decisions to meet the needs of each child. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where staff and student expectations are to be Safe, Responsible, and Kind. Students are taught and acknowledged for positive behavior through the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS). We teach, model, and practice expectations with our students. Individual, classroom, and school-based celebrations are held to celebrate the positive behaviors of our students!
There are various opportunities at Grant Wood for children to be involved in leadership throughout the school day. Families can be connected through volunteer opportunities, a principal advisory group, family nights, and our PTO! We look forward to having you join us as a Grant Wood Wildcat!
