West High Trojan Marching Band in Downtown Iowa City

Iowa City West High School Bands

  • West High School has a fine tradition of musicianship in Iowa City. Established in 1969, West High Bands have been producing student musicians who excel in performance and creativity. Directors Rob and Rich Medd diligently craft a learning atmosphere where students learn to come together as a cohesive band community. West High Bands are greatly promoted by an active WHS administration and involved parent support group.

  • Sound of the Stadium Concert, Thursday, October 24th - Volunteers Still Needed!

The Trojan Marching Band will present its annual Sounds of the Stadium Concert on Thursday, October 24th, at 7:00pm in Arganbright Auditorium. Admission is $5/Adults, $1/Students, or $10/Family and is not covered by the ICCSD Family Passes. Proceeds go directly to offset costs of the Trojan Marching Band such as our drill writer and equipment. The Northwest 8th Grade Band will join the Trojan Marching Band for this performance!

We will host a dessert reception for all band members and band parents in the cafeteria after the concert and the junior high students and their parents will be our guests. We ask that all high school band parents provide a dessert such as cookies, bars, or cupcakes for the reception. Desserts can be left at the cafeteria before the concert starting at 5:30pm. If you can provide a dessert, please sign up at this link:
