Chess Club

Play chess and compete against other SEJH students! Chess club is open to everyone, whether you are a beginner, an expert, or just want to learn how to play. Meetings begin in September.

Dance Club

The SEJH Dance Team is a place for young people who dance or aspire to dance to come and do just that — DANCE. The club is designed to create another opportunity to join in and enjoy the junior high experience at South East. There are no gender stipulations to be on the dance squad. Any 7th and 8th graders are welcomed to join as long as they have a 2.0 GPA or higher with no failing grades.

G! World

Meeting Dates and Times: G! World will be working with students during lunch in Trimester 1. Information on Trimester 2 and 3 meeting times to come.
This club is for self-identified minority girls. G! World is designed to empower, inspire, and educate women through group activities and meaningful discusions, impactful workshops, cultural outings, and real-world experiences.

GLOW Club
The mission of the SE Glow club is to educate the community about LGBTQIA issues; to build and support acceptance for everyone; to work to end bullying, harassment, and ignorant behavior in our school; to empower people to love themselves, and to be supportive friends to each other.

Jazz Band
Jazz Band
South East Junior High has two jazz bands, a 7th grade group and an 8th grade group. Both groups perform at least three times during the winter, including one concert with the City High jazz band and another at a jazz competition. Please contact Mrs. Madsen for more details.

Polar Bear Club

Meeting Dates and Times: Tuesday/Thursday for an hour after school. Starting Nov. 30th
The Polar Bear Club has fun running in the snow, learning core strength exercises, and drinking hot chocolate! We encourage cross country and track athletes as well as any other students interested in staying fit and socializing with friends during the winter months to join us.
Meetings begin after Thanksgiving Break and continue until Spring Break. Runners can join at any time (e.g., after their basketball season ends) and are welcome to come when they want (e.g., some kids come only on Mondays or only on Wednesdays).
