     Map your day

Hoover Artists! Thank you to all of you who shared their art from home for our virtual gallery.

I would like to challenge you to a new idea. If you were to look at a map of your day, what would it look like?

Are there certain things you find yourself doing daily? Would your map be different from day to day? If this idea intrigues you then follow the link to begin a map-making journey! https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/171x8qYKhykv_CwXo5Ov2-oxA_N844pHNvCaUYdfRDww/edit#slide=id.g739335b07c_0_19Map of my day

Hoover artists, what are you making while out of school?

Artists, I want to see what you have been creating over our extended break! Email me a photograph of your pencil drawing, cardboard creation, or sidewalk chalk to share with other Hoover artists. I can't wait to see what you are making!

    ♥Mrs. Cox

About Me

  • Michelle Cox I have been teaching art for 11 years. I taught in Nashville, TN, then at Roosevelt, Twain, and Borlaug elementaries in Iowa City. I am currently at Hoover and Mann elementaries. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BA in art and received an MA from the University of Northern Iowa in art education.

I love exploring new art materials! I am inspired by other artists, especially my students, and love the fresh ideas they bring to the classroom. I am originally from Chicago and enjoy being a tourist now when I visit friends and family there. I enjoy activities outside like biking, hiking, and spending time with my family.

I am looking forward to getting to know and help build the community at New Hoover. Go Little Hawks!
