Welcome to Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

  • Information regarding the District's curriculum (the instructional content), assessment (ways to measure student achievement), processes to review curriculum, and supports for student learning may be located in this section.

The State of Iowa governs the educational programs of public schools.  Required programs and content are identified in Chapter 12, General Accreditation Standards, Iowa Administrative Code, School Rules of Iowa. The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners adopted the Common Core State Standards that address content for English Language Arts and Mathematics.  The Iowa Legislature approved the Iowa Core that also addresses English Language Arts and Mathematics as well as Science, Social Studies, and 21st Century Learning Skills (technology, literacy, financial literacy, health literacy, civic literacy, and employability skills).

To learn more about the various curriculum areas of the district, visit the subject or program areas listed in the Curriculum Areas section.
