Facilities Management Department

  • The Facilities Management Department has the oversight of the Physical Plant, which includes the Custodial and Crafts groups, and the design and construction of new schools, renovation and addition projects. The Department also manages the Long Range Facility Master Plan (FMP), Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) projects, building security, warehousing and district furniture.

Within the Custodial group are day and night custodians, who are responsible for cleaning, minor maintenance and building security. Day and night custodial substitutes, large and small deliveries, refuse removal, custodial equipment repair and campus mail are also part of the Custodial group.

The Crafts group provides carpentry, general building maintenance and small-scale remodeling, custodial coverage, electrical work, grounds care, HVAC repair and preventive maintenance, security infrastructure, locksmith services, painting, plumbing, snow removal, vehicle purchasing and maintenance, resolution of indoor air quality issues and asbestos mitigation.

The goal of the department is to ensure that our facilities are not a distraction to the education and learning that must take place inside our classrooms, and that our buildings are safe for our students and staff.
