Healthy Kids School-Based Clinics

  • Healthy Kids School-Based Clinics Healthy Kids School-based Clinics (HKSC) is an extension of health services offered in the Iowa City Community School District. The clinic serves Johnson County residents ages 0-21 (birth through high school graduation), who are without access to affordable healthcare such as no insurance, ineligible for insurance, or underinsured.

    Healthy Kids is a community-supported, free medical clinic. The clinic is funded by United Way, community donations, and in-kind donations from the Iowa City Community School District and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Our mission is to work collaboratively with local medical partners to provide primary care, mental health care, and access to specialty care for underserved/uninsured children.

Clinic Hours and Days

  • FY23-24 School Year Schedule

    3rd Monday of the month (starting September 18th): 9:30-1:00 pm at West High School

    1st Monday of the month (starting October 9th): 9:00-1:00 pm at Northwest Junior High

    Tuesdays: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm at Southeast Junior High   

    Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm at City High School  

    Thursdays: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Southeast Junior High

    Summer Schedule

     Tuesday and Wednesdays: 9:30 - 1:30 at Southeast Jr High

    **The clinic's schedule varies year to year and is limited during the summer. Clinics may be canceled or changed if a provider is unavailable.
