  5. are deemed eligible for the benefit by the Superintendent of Schools

The benefits provided to staff shall be communicated to eligible staff no later than January 15 of the year in which the program is offered.

An employee who elects to participate in this program and is awarded benefits of the program will become retired and will be entitled to all rights and privileges as prescribed in applicable state and federal laws and district policies.

If the retiree has been participating in the health and dental insurance program prior to retirement, the retiree may continue to participate in the district health and dental insurance program until the retiree is eligible to receive Medicare benefits as defined by the Social Security Administration subject to carrier contract requirements and payment of all premiums.

The District reserves the right to limit the number of early retirements.
