ICCSD Community Engagement Opportunity

We’re excited to launch a new opportunity for engagement with our community, and we’d love your input. This is a chance to share your experiences and priorities so we can better understand what matters most to our school district community. ICCSD Welcomes Families with the Opening of New Welcome Center

Our Welcome Center is a place for school registration support for both families who are new to the area and current families who need assistance. Families can register for school, get their questions answered, set up school tours, and connect with school and community supports and resources. The goal is to make families feel welcome and connected during the enrollment process, while reducing barriers and building relationships.

New Student Programming at our Center for Innovation

The Center for Innovation is expanding hands-on, career-connected learning through programs like the Junior Achievement Dream Accelerator and new Kirkwood Career Academies. Students explore career interests through classroom lessons, interactive simulations, and real-world experiences while earning Work-Based Learning credit and Industry-Recognized Credentials. New health care pathways and future academies in Pre-Nursing, Education, and Business will continue to expand postsecondary opportunities for students.

Information on 2025 Tax Forms W-2 and 1095-C

All employees can access their 2025 W-2 electronically through Web Link using the instructions below. Paper W-2 forms will be mailed to the address we have on file for employees who have not opted in to electronic delivery in Web Link. Form W-2 will be available electronically to employees no later than February 2, 2026. In accordance with the Paperwork Burden Reduction Act (PBRA), employers are no longer required to mail paper copies of Form 1095-C. Electronic copies will be provided through the Benefits Portal. An email from the benefits system will be sent once Form 1095-C is available to download. Form 1095-C will be available no later than March 31, 2026.

Kevin Brown Named Recipient of the 2025–26 Karl King Distinguished Service Award

We are proud to share that Kevin Brown, Director of Bands at Northwest Middle School, has been named a recipient of the 2025–26 Karl King Distinguished Service Award. This honor recognizes exceptional members of the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association who have made meaningful, long-term contributions to both the organization and the growth of school band programs throughout Southeast Iowa. Congrats Kevin!

Staff Opportunities

The Teach Iowa Scholar (TIS) Program provides qualified Iowa teachers with awards of up to $4,000 per year for a maximum of five years for teaching in Iowa schools in designated shortage areas. This state-funded program is now seeking applicants for the 2025-26 school year.

Iowa City Schools offer American Heart Association (AHA) CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) classes to staff designed to teach life-saving skills to individuals of all backgrounds. These courses provide hands-on training in performing CPR on adults, children, and infants, using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and responding to choking emergencies. AHA classes are tailored for both healthcare professionals and general participants, ensuring that participants gain the confidence and knowledge to act quickly during cardiac emergencies. Certification is often required for various professions, but it's also valuable for anyone wanting to be prepared to save a life.
