Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-27 School Year

Kindergarten Registration is Now Open for the 2026–27 School Year!
Do you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 15, 2026? If so, it’s time to register for Kindergarten!
Families may register:
- Online
- At your child’s assigned elementary school
- At our Welcome Center, located at 2255 N. Dubuque Road in Iowa City
To find your child’s school, please use the Home School Look-Up tool on our website.
Who is eligible?
Children who turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2026.
What you’ll need to register:
- Verification of your child’s birth date (birth certificate, passport, or other approved document)
- Immunization records
- Proof of residency (lease/rental agreement, utility bill, etc.)
If you don’t have all the required documents at the time of registration, you can still begin the process. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact your child’s school or our Educational Services Center at (319) 688-1000.
