Mental Health Matters
We're got resources and supports to help
Our approach involves district-wide systems, school-based staff, and specialized services provided to students and families in collaboration with community partners. Our aim is to provide support at various levels, ensuring that everyone, whether they are in need of universal support, targeted assistance, or intensive services, can access the help they need.
We're moving mental health forward and here's how:
Communication
Promote awareness, increase knowledge, and facilitate access for families and staff regarding the comprehensive mental health and wellness resources, supports, and services available.
Mental Health Personnel
Bolster existing mental health positions (Counselors, SFAs, Nurses, etc.) in the district and expand the referral network for mental health support through partnerships with community-based mental health professionals.
Student Voice
Incorporate student voice in school decisions and center the school day around student social, emotional, and developmental needs.
Bullying & Harassment
Deepen the understanding of bullying and harassment and increase the fidelity of the investigation process with particular attention paid to the emotional impact of all involved.
Staff Voice
Optimize staff experiences and increase access to organizational supports to enhance occupational wellness.
Staff Support & Training
Prioritize training and implementation of universal best practices for students and staff to address social-emotional-behavioral health needs inclusive of mental health and disability.
