Honors Chemistry differs from Chemistry in rigor and pace. Honors Chemistry is a challenging laboratory-centered course designed to provide students the opportunity to study, investigate and experience basic chemical principles. Three major themes are addressed throughout the academic year: (1) properties of matter, (2) structure of matter, and (3) interaction of matter. This course is for those students who have high aptitude in math and science and an interest in pursuing science or science-related studies in college. 10th graders who took Biology as freshmen should take Honors Chemistry.
