Transition to 100% Off-Site Learning Model

As we previously shared with you, the District petitioned the State for permission to transition to a 100% off-site learning model for a two-week period.  This was based on the rapidly rising COVID-19 positivity rates in Johnson County, as well as support from Johnson County Public Health and our School Board.  The District was notified today that we have been granted permission from the Iowa Department of Education to make this transition to a 100% off-site learning model.  During the Board Meeting this evening, our Board of Directors discussed the next steps regarding this new information.

Following their discussion, our Board of Directors approved our recommendation and we will transition to a 100% off-site learning model beginning Monday, November 16, 2020.  Our teachers, administrators, and support staff are prepared and we want to assure families that this decision will not impact our ability to deliver high-quality instruction to our students.  We are grateful to be able to accomplish this while protecting the health and safety of our school district community.  Please note, this will not impact students who are currently enrolled in the ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program.

Additional information will be shared with families this week, including details on our Continuous Online Learning Schedules and information on the Grab & Go Meal Program which will be offered while we are operating in the 100% off-site learning model.  Please know that keeping our students and staff safe is our absolute priority right now.  We are hopeful that conditions will soon shift in a positive direction, allowing us to welcome students back to in-person learning.  We remain dedicated to navigating this process in a transparent and collaborative manner and we will provide updates as new information becomes available.
