Student Access to Buildings

We appreciate the feedback that we have been receiving from students, parents, and staff throughout this situation.  Open dialog with our community helps to ensure that we are meeting the needs of those at the center of our focus. One request that we would like to address is the need for students to access our buildings to collect necessary personal items for use while schools are closed.  While we want to ensure that we can maintain the health and safety of our students, we believe that we can offer access to the buildings in a structured manner that adheres to social distancing and large gathering guidelines. 

We will open schools for student access to collect any needed items on Friday, March 27, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm.  In order to access a District building, this Student Building Access Request Form must be completed.  Students at all grade levels must be accompanied by an adult when accessing the school. Please use the main entrance only.  At this time, we are asking elementary students not to take their textbooks or workbooks home with them. Access will be limited to 10 minutes or less. This is not an opportunity for families to come and have access to rooms and student curricular materials, cleaning out desks or lockers, etc. Rather it is to pick up essential items like instruments, glasses, coats, shoes, etc., that may have been left prior to Spring Break. Teachers will not be present during this time. A building administrator will meet the parent(s) at the front door with the desired item, and they will not be allowed in the building, as the building has already been deeply cleaned and sanitized.  Access will only be granted to students that have submitted a completed form. Please note, if you recently traveled out of state, we ask that you follow the 14-day recommended self-quarantine.  If this applies to you, please do not plan to visit your school during this time. With the exception of this time on March 27, we want to remind you that all District schools, buildings, and grounds will remain closed to the public until further notice.
