District Technology Department provides meal to Ronald McDonald House

District Tech staff volunteering at Ronald McDonald House

On January 10, staff members from the District Technology & Innovation Department came together to provide a home-cooked meal to residents at the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City. Ronald McDonald House provides lodging and support to families with children who are receiving treatment at local medical facilities.

Seven volunteers provided a meal for 35 to 40 people currently residing at the House. On the menu that evening were grilled chicken, baked potatoes with butter sour cream and bacon bits, roasted broccoli, green salad, brownies, and rice crispy treats.

“We hope to make this a standing tradition in our department,” says Network Administrator Brad George. “It is great to give back to the community and provide a home-cooked meal for families in times of need.”

Thanks to Brad and his wife Ramona George, Adam Kurth and his daughter Miriam, Sue Harms, Kelly Nelson, and Julie Willman for their example of community service.
