The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement test that measures skills taught in schools and deemed important for success in first-year college courses. The components of the exam include tests in English, math, reading, science, and (optional) writing. The ACT is accepted as a college entrance exam by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States.
