2020-21 Registration and Enrollment Information

We are excited to announce that e-Registration is now open for the 2020-21 school year.  While we understand that there are still many unknowns about what the upcoming school year will look like, enrolling and registering students is a crucial step in finalizing multiple details surrounding our unique return to learning this fall.

Due to changing public health conditions and state policies related to COVID-19, it is undecided at this time whether school will begin in an off-site or hybrid model.  We plan to transition within our Continuum of Learning Models as COVID-19 conditions allow.  We are awaiting the determination of a waiver from the Iowa Department of Education to begin the year as planned in an off-site learning model.  However, should the waiver not be approved, we have refined our AA/BB hybrid model to meet the Governor’s 50% threshold for on-site learning.  Parents may also elect to enroll their child in the ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program. Parents can opt into this program during the e-Registration process in PowerSchool.

The enrollment process contains three necessary elements: 1. E-Registration through PowerSchool, 2. Form completion, and 3. Fees.  Full details, as well as the step-by-step instructions for the registration and enrollment process, can be found on the District website at www.IowaCitySchools.org/Enrollment-Registration.

ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program
The ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program (ICCSD Online) is a new learning opportunity available to all students for the 2020-21 school year. ICCSD Online provides parents a high-quality, at-home alternative to the District’s traditional classroom setting.  The program has been designed by District teachers and administrators and provides students the ability to engage in rigorous coursework offered through an online environment. As a District, we recognize the significant health and safety concerns still facing our community. ICCSD Online provides parents the ability to choose the academic setting that is best for their student without having to sacrifice the traditional benefits of working directly with teachers and classmates.

We understand that this situation remains fluid and we appreciate your continued patience and support as we work to reopen our schools in the safest possible way.  We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.  We anticipate there to be multiple developments over the next two weeks as we receive more guidance from the Iowa Department of Education, as well as our state and local health agencies.  Health and safety are paramount and we are committed to making decisions that are in the best interests of our students, families, and staff.  Take care.  #ICCSDtogether
