Return-to-Learn Update and School Start Date Considerations
Today, Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education provided additional Return-to-Learn guidance for school districts. We are currently working through this guidance to ensure that it aligns with the current direction of our Return-to-Learn work. We intend to provide an update to families and staff early next week after we are able to gather additional clarification surrounding the guidance and what, if any, impact it has on our plans.
School Start Date Considerations Given the ongoing concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic and Johnson County Public Health’s recommendation that the District not have students on campus in August, we are considering delaying the school start date until September 8, 2020. We are seeking your feedback through a two-question survey on the proposed calendar change. Please click here to provide your feedback. The deadline to submit your response is Sunday, August 2, 2020.
Thank you for staying engaged with us through this extremely fluid situation. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back into our schools in a way that prioritizes health and safety. Please watch for additional guidance next week. Take care. #ICCSDtogether
