As we shared with you earlier this week, the District has been granted permission from the State to begin the school year in a 100% off-site learning model. Today, our Board of Directors held a special meeting to discuss and determine the next steps regarding this new information.
Following their discussion, our Board of Directors voted unanimously today to begin the 2020-21 school year in a 100% off-site learning model. We have been preparing for this possibility and want to assure families that this decision will not impact our ability to deliver high-quality, rigorous instruction to our students. The key is that we can now accomplish this without fear of jeopardizing the health of our students and staff while helping to slow the community spread of the virus. Our teachers, administrators, and support staff are prepared and we are excited to get back to learning on September 8.
Additional information will be shared with families this week, including details on opportunities to pick-up student materials and elementary virtual meet and greets with teachers. Please know that keeping our school district community safe is our absolute priority right now. Together we will get through this and we will come out stronger on the other side. Thank you for your continued support and patience. #ICCSDtogether
