Learning Model Update (12/8/20)

We would like to provide an update regarding the District’s learning model plan for the week of December 14-18, 2020.  We continue to monitor the COVID-19 positivity rates in Johnson County.  Based on the current downward trend of the rates, we are planning for a return to a hybrid learning model beginning Monday, December 14, 2020.

While we do anticipate a return to the hybrid learning model, per direction from our Board of Directors, we are also petitioning the State for permission to extend 100% off-site learning.  Applying for the waiver provides the necessary flexibility should the COVID-19 case counts indicate the need to remain in an off-site learning model for one more week.  We intend to communicate with families by Friday, December 11, with specific guidance for next week.

For those who are interested in monitoring the rates we are using in our decision-making, please visit the State of Iowa’s COVID dashboard.  In addition, you can also track District-level data on our District COVID dashboard.

We understand the need to bring students back on-site and our goal is to do so as soon as safely possible.  The health of our school district community remains our primary focus.  Please continue to utilize the safety measures that have been proven to work including wearing a mask, staying socially distanced, and practicing proper hand washing/hand sanitizing.  Thank you for your continued support and patience.  #ICCSDtogether
