As we shared with you earlier this week, we are planning to return to the hybrid learning model beginning Monday, December 14, 2020.
Tuesday evening, the School Board indicated that if Johnson County positivity rates remained stable, we would welcome students back on-site for the week of December 14-18, 2020. The Board also instructed that the District submit an online waiver request to the State in case rates began to climb. This afternoon we were informed that the District’s waiver request was granted by the State. However, due to this late notice and the current positivity rates in our community, we will transition back to the hybrid learning model next week.
As a reminder, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are “A’ group days, and Thursday and Friday are “B” group days next week. This transition does not apply to students who have enrolled in the ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program.
We will continue to monitor the Johnson County positivity rates. Should the rates begin to rapidly rise, we want to prepare families that there may be a need to move to off-site learning mid-week. Of course, we will share any updates and changes as soon as possible.
Keeping our students and staff safe will continue to be a collaborative effort. Conducting daily health screenings with your children, keeping them home if they are sick, practicing effective hand washing, and learning how to properly wear a face covering are just a few ways in which families can help ensure a safe return to in-person learning. We look forward to welcoming students back on-site next week. #ICCSDtogether
