Hearing Screening

Grant Wood Area Education Agency (GWAEA) conducts hearing screenings for
all students in:

• 4-Year-Old Preschool
• Any 3 year olds in Preschool with an Individualized Education Program
• (IEP)
• 1st Grade
• 5th Grade

Parents/Guardians have the right to opt their child out of the hearing screening.

• To do so, please submit a written notification to your school health office at the beginning of the school year or prior to screening.
